I can’t believe I forgot to leave a comment for this episode. Thanks for playing my request of “Decatur.” I grew up in Illinois and lived most of my life there. I participated in a lot of bowling leagues in junior high and high school, and for one of our tournaments, we had to travel down to Decatur. Didn’t see anything there besides a motel and a bowling alley. But, there’s not really that much to see in Decatur to begin with.

You mentioned that your guitar teacher is showing you how to play “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” That’s a good one to play. I had been playing guitar for a couple years when “Nevermind” came out, and I picked that song up pretty quickly. I remember taking my guitar and amp over to my friend’s house and playing it in his bedroom. He fancied himself a singer, so he’d sing the verses while I played. He wasn’t very good (nor was I, I’d imagine) but it was fun at the time.

Apparently I had to think very carefully about responding to this comment for eight years before replying. You’re welcome for playing the request! I love the story about being a kid and making music with your friend, those moments were so nice as kids, weren’t they?
