I came across Harris Markowitz on Snapchat some time ago. Though I don’t remember exactly how I discovered him, I do remember becoming an immediate fan. His snaps are ridiculously creative and compelling and, with his company A Cereal Production, he has created content for companies like Coca-Cola and Jolly Rancher.
Whenever people tell me they “don’t get” Snapchat, I immediately direct them to Harris to see how he uses the platform and the potential it holds. His Snapumentary was produced for a discussion with Naritiv at Sundance 2016 is another great primer for the power contained within Snapchat as a platform.
In the podcast, Harris and I talk about his background as a self-taught filmmaker, how the perceived limitations of Snapchat inspire his creativity, and some basics about how to get rolling with your own Snapchat account. Chatting with him gave me a real creative jolt, and I hope it does the same for you.
In other news, I talk a little about where I’m headed next after the demise of the Drip subscription service, the latest on my solo multi-media piece The Animal Show and play some music I am currently excited about. Give the podcast a listen and follow Harris at all of the places – links below. Thanks for listening!
