This is Joi Ito’s third visit to the podcast and each time I interview him, I am perfectly charmed and inspired. Joi’s bio is pretty awe-inspiring, most recently as the Director of the MIT Media Lab and co-author of the book Whiplash: How to Survive Our Faster Future.

Joi suggested we live stream our interview on Facebook, so this interview has an interesting spin not yet heard on this podcast. I was really cool to have a more collaborative interview style and to respond to comments and questions from the people who were viewing the stream. Let me know what you think of this style. Should I do it again?

About Michael Harren

Brooklyn-based composer and performer Michael Harren combines elements of classical composition with experimental electronics and storytelling to create hypnotic and boldly intimate work that walks the line between Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel and Dead Can Dance.
