MikeyPod Breaking News

September 28, 2005 by Michael Harren

I will be podcasting from the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty 2005 Conference.

I need new equipment to do this in a professional manner:
Marantz PMD670 Professional Solid State Portable Recorder

Two Shure SM58 Microphones

I need to raise about $1000.00. Help if you can. There is a PayPal Donate Button on the sidebar of my blog.

About Michael Harren

Brooklyn-based composer and performer Michael Harren combines elements of classical composition with experimental electronics and storytelling to create hypnotic and boldly intimate work that walks the line between Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel and Dead Can Dance.

Mikey! I love the podcasts!! I am trying to figure out how I can get them automatically through iTunes. I haven’t figured it out yet. I am so excited that I can hear you! I was honestly procrastinating on listening because of my hearing impairment but even with quasi-wimpy speakers on the iBob (don’t worry, iBob, I still love you!) and with your crisp, clear voice, I heard you just fine! Might have been the first time I’ve heard dialogue on any computer without assistance from headphones or more. I love the passion that you have for the things you pursue and would love to be a part of it. I would love to help donate as soon as I can.

SM58’s are excellent mics. Have you tried using a PZM microphone for conferences? I had to pick up a couple several years ago for city council meetings and they worked great!
