MikeyPod 85

March 27, 2007 by Michael Harren

It’s been 20 days since I’ve done a podcast.

My iPod died.

I gave it to someone on Freecycle who used it to rebuild hers.

Listen to BicycleMark’s experience working with Common Grounds in New Orleans.

The best band in Houston: Black Math Experiment.

I miss the sense of belonging I felt in Houston.

I’ve lost hope lately.

Voicemail from Darryl in Atlanta, Tim Corrimal from Go Rainbow Radio, and James in LA.

I want to get a point where I podcast just for the sake of podcasting.

About Michael Harren

Brooklyn-based composer and performer Michael Harren combines elements of classical composition with experimental electronics and storytelling to create hypnotic and boldly intimate work that walks the line between Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel and Dead Can Dance.

Hey, nice show. I felt kind of moved by it, like the part about not knowing if what you’re doing is just falling into a void or if you’re reaching people. I think that’s why a lot of people quit composing or making art, which is sad.

I don’t know if I qualify as a fellow podcaster because I just post mp3s of my own music. It’s not at all pop, but it is queer. I feel really compelled to do it, because how the heck else would anybody ever hear any of my tunes.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to your next show.
