MikeyPod 272 | Musician Brett Gleason

January 28, 2019 by Michael Harren

I was inspired to invite musician Brett Gleason to be my guest on the podcast when I read his new year’s day post on Patreon, How We Beat My Imposter Syndrome in 2018. Brett is a real inspiration to me as an artist, and this post was a real great example of why.

Brett and I talk about his music, his experience with being bipolar, and how redefining success enabled him to embrace his art more deeply. I honestly can’t remember how I first discovered Brett and his music, but I am so happy that I did. I’m even more delighted to have connected with him and count him as a friend. I know you’ll love hearing this interview as much as I loved conducting it.

Music:
Macroscopic – Brett Gleason
Rough Love – Brett Gleason

About Michael Harren

Brooklyn-based composer and performer Michael Harren combines elements of classical composition with experimental electronics and storytelling to create hypnotic and boldly intimate work that walks the line between Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel and Dead Can Dance.
