MikeyPod 283 | Director T Cooper

December 9, 2019 by Michael Harren

I’m so excited to welcome T Cooper back to the podcast this week to discuss his award winning documentary film, Man Made, which traces the lives of four transgender men as they prepare to step on the stage at the only trans bodybuilding competition in the world. T and I discuss his motivation toward making the film and the path that led him from author to director, and his experience making his first feature length film.

T Cooper is the author of seven novels, including the best-selling The Beaufort Diaries and Lipshitz Six, or Two Angry Blondes, as well as co-author (with Allison Glock-Cooper) of the recent four-part young adult novel series entitled Changers. Cooper’s most recent solo book is the non-fiction Real Man Adventures. His television writing credits include: Netflix’s The Get Down and BBC America’s Copper, and he is currently Writer and Consulting Producer on The Blacklist (NBC).

About Michael Harren

Brooklyn-based composer and performer Michael Harren combines elements of classical composition with experimental electronics and storytelling to create hypnotic and boldly intimate work that walks the line between Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel and Dead Can Dance.
