MikeyPod 126 | Musical Comedy Improv with Veal

November 18, 2008 by Michael Harren

On a very special episode of MikeyPod, the musical improv group Veal kindly let me sit in on one of their rehearsals. We talk about their process for creating musical comedy on the fly, they take me through their warm up process and create an opening number before my very eyes.

Please accept my apologies for the heinous sound quality during the song Holy Water. Yeah, sound is bad, but it was too hilarious to cut from the show.

Find out more about Veal on Facebook, MySpace and YouTube or see them live on Dec 13th at 10:30 at under St. Marks.

About Michael Harren

Brooklyn-based composer and performer Michael Harren combines elements of classical composition with experimental electronics and storytelling to create hypnotic and boldly intimate work that walks the line between Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel and Dead Can Dance.
