MikeyPod 301 | Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams

September 14, 2020 by Michael Harren

When Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 2016, he started researching how lifestyle change might help his condition. He discovered the work of Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, among others, and was quickly convinced to begin a plant-based whole foods lifestyle. Within months, his symptoms were gone! Since then, Mr. Adams has been a staunch advocate for plant-based eating, and will soon be releasing a book on the subject, Healthy at Last.

I was so happy to chat with the Borough President on the podcast this week! We discussed his experience with reversing his diabetes, the evolution of soul food, spirituality, and a bunch more!

We’ll also hear from my friend, frequent collaborator, and MikeyPod guest, Lauren Maul, with her thoughts on last week’s 300th episode.
