Thanks to my diligent sister, I found my way to Joe’s Pub a couple of months ago to see Adrienne Truscott’s Asking For It: A One Lady Rape About Comedy. It was a fantastic thought provoking show that also inspired me pretty deeply in terms of how I approached some of the material in my recent show. Adrienne is an award winning choreographer, dancer, and stand-up comedian who has performed all over the world. I was really thrilled to have the chance to speak with her.
All of that said, I recorded this interview right before I went into major “buried in prep” mode for The Animal Show, so I’m afraid some of the performances we mention in the conversation are outdated. Still, get yourself on top of Adrienne’s work and make a point to see her perform.
